Money Train RTP Versions: How to Check the RTP at Your Casino
The Money Train RTP isn't one fixed number: the same game can run at different settings depending on the casino and the country. On paper the difference looks small. Over a session it isn't. Here are the known versions for every game, what each one costs you, and how to check which one you're playing.

What RTP means
RTP (return to player) is the share of all money wagered that a game pays back over millions of spins. A 96.1% RTP means that, in theory, every $100 bet returns $96.10 and the house keeps $3.90.
It describes the very long run. In a single session you can end far above or below it, especially in high-volatility games like Money Train. But RTP still decides the average cost of your play, and that's why the version matters.
House edge in one line
House edge = 100% − RTP. At 96.1% the edge is 3.9%; at 86% it's 14%, more than three and a half times higher, for the same game with the same graphics.
Known Money Train RTP versions by game
Relax doesn't publish a list of versions per game. The table combines what reviewers and industry media have documented. The newest games have the widest range.
The lowest default is Origins Dream Drop at 94%, because part of each bet funds the jackpot. Slingo Money Train follows at 94.42%. The lowest version listed for any game is 86%, for Money Train 5.
| Game | Default RTP | Bonus buy RTP | Lower versions reported |
|---|---|---|---|
| Money Train | 96.2% | 98.0% | 90% (Relax's German version) |
| Money Train 2 | 96.4% | 98.0% | 94.4% seen at some casinos |
| Money Train 3 | 96.1% | 96.5% | 94% (one source) |
| Origins Dream Drop | 94% incl. jackpot | No buy | Non-jackpot version 96.11% |
| Money Train 4 | 96.1% | 96.5% | 94% (several sources), 90% (one source) |
| Money Train 5 | 96.1% | 96.5% | 94%, 92%, 90%, 86% |
| Money Plane | 97% | — | Possibly 94% and 92% (unconfirmed) |
| Slingo Money Train | 94.42% | No buy (94.47% with optimal extra spins) | 94% listed by some sources |
| Money Cart 1 and 2 | 98% | No buy | None reported |
| Money Cart 3 and 4 | 96% | No buy | Possibly 92% for Money Cart 4 (UK game ID) |
| Money Sleigh | 96% | No buy | 94% (one source) |

What a lower RTP costs
The easiest way to see the difference is to look at the expected loss over a fixed amount of play. 1,000 spins at $1 means $1,000 wagered.
Moving from 96.1% to 86% nearly quadruples the expected cost of the same session, from $39 to $140. Nothing on screen tells you which one you're playing unless you check.
| RTP | House edge | Expected loss |
|---|---|---|
| 98% (MT1/MT2 buys) | 2% | $20 |
| 96.4% | 3.6% | $36 |
| 96.1% | 3.9% | $39 |
| 94% | 6% | $60 |
| 92% | 8% | $80 |
| 90% | 10% | $100 |
| 86% | 14% | $140 |

How to check the RTP at your casino
Licensed casinos have to make this information available. In the UK, for example, the Gambling Commission's technical standards require operators to show how a game works and its RTP or house edge before you play. The exact menu wording varies between casinos; the screenshot below shows where the Money Train slot RTP line sits in Money Train 5.
Open the game
Load the Money Train game at your casino, in real-money mode if possible: demo modes can show a different version.
Find the info screen
Open the game menu or the info (i) button. The paytable and game rules sit there.
Read the rules
Scroll the game rules to the RTP line. It usually states the base RTP and, if available, the bonus buy RTP.
Compare
Check the figure against the table above. If it's below the default, you're on a lower version.
Decide
If you'd rather not play a lower version, look for a licensed casino that runs the default one.
Why casinos use lower versions
Studios like Relax supply several RTP settings, and operators choose one. Lower settings give the casino a bigger margin, and some markets push margins down. Germany is the clearest example: a 5.3% tax on stakes makes high-RTP versions unprofitable for operators, so lower settings are common there, and Relax's German version of Money Train runs at 90%.
That's a commercial choice, not a sign of a broken game: a 90% version uses the same rules and certified randomness, just with a lower return. But you should know which version you're getting. See where to play for how we pick casinos.
RTP versions FAQ
What is the Money Train RTP?
It's 96.2% for the original Money Train, or 98% when you buy the bonus. Relax's German version runs at 90%.
Which Money Train has the highest RTP?
It's Money Train 2, at 96.4% in regular play. Money Train 1 and 2 bonus buys reach 98%. Money Plane, the arcade spin-off, runs at 97%.
Why is the RTP different at my casino?
It's because casinos choose from several RTP settings supplied by the studio. Some pick lower ones, and some markets push them toward lower settings.
Does the demo show the same RTP as real play?
Not always. Demo modes can run a different version than the casino's real-money game, so check the info screen in real-money mode.
Which Money Train game has the lowest RTP?
It's Origins Dream Drop by default, at 94% including the jackpot. The lowest version reported for any game is 86%, for Money Train 5.
Is a lower RTP version rigged?
No. It uses the same rules and certified random results, just with a lower long-run return. It is, however, more expensive to play.
How we checked the numbers
Each default RTP in the table comes from our review of that game, which cites Relax Gaming and independent reviews. Lower versions: iGB and BigWinBoard (Money Train 5), CasinoWizard and AboutSlots (Money Train 4). UK rules: UKGC RTS 3. German tax context: iGaming.com.
We found no legal minimum RTP in Germany: the 90% version is the setting Relax lists for that market, not a legal floor.

Play responsibly
A lower RTP version makes the same session more expensive on average, and short sessions still swing far from any RTP figure. Treat gambling as paid entertainment, set a budget before you start and stop when it's gone.
