Money Cart Slots: The Bonus-Only Relax Gaming Series

The Money Cart series strips each Money Train game down to its bonus. There are no paylines: every spin either lands bonus symbols or nothing, and three or more start the respins. The bonus comes far more often, but values are much smaller. Here's how the four games compare.

What a bonus-only slot is

In a Money Cart game you pay a normal bet per spin. Each spin shows only blanks, bonus symbols and special symbols. Land three or more bonus symbols and you get the familiar hold-and-respin round: 3 respins, and every new symbol locks and resets the count.

The series was designed for markets without bonus buys, such as the UK. Each Money Cart is a separate game in which any spin can trigger the respin round, and you pay for every spin as usual.

The trade-off is scale. AboutSlots estimates that Money Cart 4's symbol values are about 90% lower than in Money Train 4. The max wins are also far smaller than the originals.

How often? SlotCatalog puts the Money Cart 4 trigger at roughly one spin in ten, compared with about one in 387 for the Money Train 4 bonus.

Each Money Cart mirrors one Money Train game and its special symbols. A festive cousin, Money Sleigh, is a Christmas reskin of Money Cart 3.

Money Cart vs Money Train: each game in detail

Same bonus, smaller numbers. If you want the full ceiling and a base game, the Money Train original is the closer fit. If you want frequent respin rounds and no paylines, Money Cart is the alternative.

  • Money Cart (2021)

Released on as a "Bonus Reels" edition of the 2019 Money Train. The grid starts at 5x4 and can widen to 7 reels.

It uses the original bonus cast: Collector, Payer, Widener and the persistent Collector and Payer. Tumbleweed blanks fill the empty cells, as the screenshot above shows.

Bets run from $0.10 to $500, the widest range in the series. RTP is 98% and the cap is 2,000x, against 20,000x in Money Train.

  • Money Cart 2 (2021)

The first of the series, released on . It's based on Money Train 2 and also came out as a "Bonus Reels" edition.

It brings Money Train 2's Sniper, Necromancer and Golden Bonus symbols to a 5x4 grid that grows to 7x4. Filling the whole grid in Money Cart 2 adds 50x. In Money Train 2, a full grid pays 500x.

Bets run from $0.10 to $200. RTP is 98% and the cap is 5,000x, against 50,000x in Money Train 2.

  • Money Cart 3 (2023)

Released on and based on Money Train 3. The 5x4 grid can open up to 7 reels.

It carries over Money Train 3's Absorber, Tommy Gun Sniper, Tommy Gun Payer and Shapeshifter. Money Sleigh is this game with a Christmas theme and new symbol names.

Bets run from $0.10 to $100. RTP drops to 96%, and the cap rises to 10,000x, against 100,000x in Money Train 3.

  • Money Cart 4 (2024)

Released on and based on Money Train 4. It's the only Money Cart with a different frame: 6x4, growing to 6x8.

It uses Money Train 4's Arms Dealer, Upgrader, Unlocker and Adjacent symbols, about 20 symbol types in all. SlotCatalog puts the trigger at roughly one spin in ten.

Bets run from $0.10 to $60. RTP is 96%, though a UK game ID hints at a 92% version. The cap is 15,000x, against 150,000x in Money Train 4.

Money Cart RTP and max win in dollars

The caps below are ceilings, not expected results. Most Money Cart rounds pay small amounts because symbol values are low.

Money Cart98%2,000x$400$2,000
Money Cart 298%5,000x$1,000$5,000
Money Cart 396%10,000x$2,000$10,000
Money Cart 496%15,000x$3,000$15,000

Some sources quote max wins in coins (10 coins = 1x the bet). Figures here are in multiples of the bet.

A 98% RTP means that, in theory, $100 wagered returns $98 over a very large number of spins. Short sessions can land far above or below that. Check the RTP in each game's rules screen, because casinos can run different versions (see RTP versions).

Where to play Money Cart slots

Check that a casino is licensed in your country before you sign up. Open the rules screen to confirm the RTP version, especially for Money Cart 4 (see RTP versions). None of the four games has a bonus buy, so the UK versions play like the rest.

How we checked the numbers

The Money Cart figures come from Relax Gaming's Money Cart 2 and Money Cart 4 pages and from BigWinBoard, SlotCatalog, AboutSlots and Gaming Intelligence.

Max wins are sometimes quoted in coins (10 coins = 1x the bet), which makes them look ten times larger. Money Cart's release is dated December 7 or 8, 2021 depending on the source.

Play responsibly

Money Cart games start the respins often, but most rounds pay small amounts, so a run of bonuses can still add up to a loss. Treat gambling as paid entertainment, set a budget before you start and stop when it's gone.
