Money Sleigh Review: The Christmas Money Cart

Our score: 7.8/10

Quick verdict: Money Sleigh is a festive reskin of Money Cart 3. There are no paylines: every spin is a try for the respin bonus, where Santa revives specials and Eternal symbols fire on every respin. The RTP is 96% and the cap is 10,000x. It suits players who like pure hold-and-win.

What is Money Sleigh?

Money Sleigh was released by Relax Gaming on . A red-and-gold sleigh replaces the train. There's snow, a house and a red-nosed reindeer, and Santa appears as one of the special symbols.

Under the wrapping it's Money Cart 3, the bonus-only version of Money Train 3. There are no paying symbols or paylines. Each spin either does nothing or lands snow globes, and three or more start the respins.

The modifiers get festive names but work almost exactly like their Money Train 3 counterparts. The game doesn't carry the Money Train name, so we treat it as part of the Money Cart family.

Money Sleigh is built in HTML5. It runs in mobile browsers on phones and tablets, and no separate app is needed. More on that in our mobile and app guide.

Rules in a minute

How Money Sleigh plays

  1. Choose your bet

From $0.10 to $100 per spin. Values are shown in coins: one coin is a tenth of your bet.

  2. Spin for snow globes

Base spins show blanks and snow globes worth 1 to 10 coins (0.1x to 1x your bet).

  3. Land 3 or more

Three or more snow globes start the respins. Sources put the hit frequency at 9.95%, about one spin in ten.

  4. Lock and reset

You get 3 respins. Every new symbol sticks and resets the count to 3.

  5. Fill reels

Fill a reel and a new one opens, up to two, for a 7x4 grid.

  6. Collect

When the respins run out or you hit 10,000x, the values on the grid are paid.

Worked example

How a Money Sleigh round plays out

Say you bet $0.20, so one coin is worth $0.02. A spin lands three snow globes worth 2, 4 and 5 coins. That's 11 coins, or $0.22, and the respins start with the counter at 3.

On the next respin a Helper lands and doubles three symbols. The globes are now 4, 8 and 10 coins, and the counter resets to 3. Two empty respins follow. Then a Gatherer lands and collects 22 coins into itself, which resets the counter again.

If the last three respins stay empty, the round pays the grid total. Here that's the Gatherer's 22 coins plus the three globes it collected from, 44 coins in all. At $0.20 that's $0.88; at $1 the same round would pay $4.40.

Many rounds look like this: small values and a short life. Bigger totals need Eternal symbols that keep firing on every respin, and Santa bringing back specials that have already fired.

Snow globe values in dollars: at a $0.20 bet a globe is worth $0.02 to $0.20. At $1 it's worth $0.10 to $1.

Illustrative example; the game decides which symbols land and their values.

The main event

Money Sleigh respin bonus and symbols

  • Collector

    Gatherer

Collects every visible value into its own.

  • Combo

    Gatherer-Giver

Collects from 3 to 5 symbols, then pays the new total back to each.

  • Doubler

    Helper

Doubles 3 to 8 symbols, possibly the same one twice.

  • Doubler

    Super Helper

Doubles one random symbol 2 to 6 times.

  • Payer

    Super Giver

Shows 5 to 100 coins and adds it to random symbols 3 to 10 times.

  • Revive

    Santa

Brings back 2 to 7 used one-off specials: Gatherer, Gatherer-Giver, Helper, Super Helper or Super Giver. It can pick the same one twice.

  • Clear

    Snow Bank

Banks all plain snow globes and removes them from the grid. Specials can't be banked.

  • Eternal

    Eternal Gatherer

Collects every visible value at the end of each respin. It doesn't collect its own value.

  • Eternal

    Eternal Helper

Doubles 3 to 8 other symbols at the end of each respin.

  • Eternal

    Eternal Gatherer-Giver

Collects from 3 to 5 targets and pays the new total back to them, on every respin.

  • Eternal

    Eternal Santa

Brings back 1 to 7 used one-off specials on every respin.

  • Eternal

    Eternal Mystery

Turns into a Gatherer, Gatherer-Giver, Helper, Super Helper or Super Giver after each respin.

If you know Money Train 3, the translation is easy. Gatherer is the Collector, Helper is the Sniper and Super Helper is the Tommy Gun Sniper. Super Giver is the Tommy Gun Payer, Santa is the Necromancer and Snow Bank is the Absorber.

Eternal means the same as Persistent in Money Train. We found no full-grid prize in any source. See every symbol in our special symbols guide.

Money Sleigh respins with snow globes worth 1 to 5 and a Gatherer worth 15 on the grid, 2 spins left and a total of 29
The numbers

Money Sleigh RTP, volatility and max win

The RTP is 96%: in theory, every $100 wagered returns $96 over a very large number of spins. OLBG reports a 94% version too, so check the info screen at your casino. That's below Money Cart 1 and 2 (98%) but in line with Money Cart 3 and 4.

Volatility is rated high. The respins trigger often, but snow globes are worth only 0.1x to 1x your bet. Most rounds pay small amounts, and long runs of empty spins are normal.

The cap is 10,000x. That's $1,000 at the $0.10 minimum, $2,000 at $0.20 and $10,000 at $1. It's a ceiling, not an expected result, and no source publishes the odds of reaching it.

One coin is a tenth of the bet. Values from BigWinBoard and SlotCatalog.

There's no bonus buy. One source says a buy exists outside the UK. Three others say there isn't one and no buy price is published, so we treat it as unavailable.

Check that a casino is licensed in your country before you sign up. Look at the rules screen for the RTP version, because 96% and 94% are both reported (see RTP versions). Money Sleigh has no bonus buy anywhere, so the UK version plays the same as the rest.

Pros and cons

What we like

  • Respins trigger often, about once in ten spins
  • Full Money Train 3 cast of modifiers, with Eternal versions
  • Christmas names that make the symbols easy to remember
  • Wide $0.10–$100 bet range

What we don't

  • No base game to speak of
  • 96% RTP, below the 98% of the first Money Cart games
  • Lower ceiling than Money Train 3 (10,000x vs 100,000x)
  • Seasonal theme won't suit everyone year-round

Similar games

The same respin bonus appears across the series, with different symbols and ceilings.

  • Money Cart series

Money Cart 3 is the same game without the Christmas theme. The other three Money Cart games mirror Money Train 1, 2 and 4, at 96–98% RTP.

  • Money Train 3

The original version of these modifiers, with a base game, four bonus buys and a 100,000x cap. The bonus is much rarer.

  • Money Train

Where the Money Cart bonus started in 2019. Fewer special symbols, 40 paylines and a 20,000x cap.

  • Money Train 2

Adds the Sniper and Necromancer that became Helper and Santa here. It has base-game respins and a 50,000x cap.

Our verdict: is it worth playing?

Money Sleigh: Money Cart 3 in a Christmas sweater.

Money Sleigh is worth a look if you like the Money Train 3 bonus and don't need a base game. The respins start often, and the festive names make the symbols easy to follow.

Skip it if you want a higher ceiling or a 98% RTP. Money Train 3 goes to 100,000x, and the first two Money Cart games return 98%. It's still a high-volatility game where most rounds pay little.

How we checked the numbers

Money Sleigh's figures come from Relax Gaming's release news, BigWinBoard, SlotCatalog, AboutSlots, OLBG and HideousSlots. The respin screenshot was taken in the demo.

One demo site lists a 1,000x max win and free spins; both are errors. The 94% RTP and a non-UK bonus buy are each reported by a single source.

Drafts are prepared with AI from this fact base and checked by an editor before publication. Read our editorial policy and review method.

Play responsibly

Money Sleigh triggers its respins often, but most rounds pay small amounts, so frequent bonuses can hide steady losses. Treat it as paid entertainment, set a budget before you start and stop when it's gone.
