Money Train Origins Dream Drop Review: Jackpots, RTP and Bonus

Our score: 8/10

Quick verdict: a back-to-basics Wild West prequel with the most frequent bonus of the main games and a 1,000x full-grid prize, plus Relax's Dream Drop jackpots on top. The price is a 94% RTP. Worth it only if the jackpot is the point for you.

The prequel

What is Money Train Origins Dream Drop?

Money Train Origins Dream Drop was released on . It's a prequel: the gang is back in the classic Wild West, with a train, cowboys, bandits and a Morricone-style soundtrack that recalls the very first game.

The game combines two Relax brands. The reels and bonus are pure Money Train: a 5x4 grid, 40 fixed lines and a Money Cart respin bonus. On top sits Dream Drop, Relax's network jackpot system with five tiers, from Rapid to Mega.

The base game is deliberately plain: line wins, a golden-revolver Wild and purple safe Scatters, with no extra modifiers. The bonus brings two new specials, the Banker and the Healer, and the largest published full-grid prize in the series.

Rules in a minute

How to play Origins Dream Drop

The rules are close to the 2019 original. Every spin is random; you choose the bet and how long you play.

  1. Choose your bet

Set a stake between $0.20 and $100 per spin. All 40 lines are always active.

  2. Match 3 or more

Wins pay for 3 to 5 matching symbols from the left. The golden revolver Wild substitutes for paying symbols.

  3. Land 3 Scatters

Three or more purple safes anywhere start the Money Cart bonus with 3 respins.

  4. Fill reels

New symbols lock and reset the respins. Filling a reel opens a new one, up to 7x4.

  5. Fill everything

Fill all 28 positions and you get an extra 1,000x on top of the grid total. The feature then ends.

  6. Watch for Dream Drop

Before any spin, the Dream Drop jackpot game can start at random.

Paytable

Symbols and paytable

The four Wild West characters are the premium symbols and pay 8x to 20x for five on a line. The four card suits pay 3x to 5x for five. The golden revolver Wild pays 0.8x, 4x and 20x, the same as the top symbol.

The purple safe is the Scatter: it doesn't pay on its own but triggers the bonus. All values in the table come from the in-game paytable, divided by the 2.00 bet it was shown at.

The Money Cart bonus in Origins

The bonus is the classic Money Cart: 3 respins that reset, a grid that grows sideways, and values paid at the end. It also lands more often than in any other main game in the series.

  • Base

    Bonus

Worth 1x to 10x your bet. The trigger Scatters turn into Bonus values.

  • Payer

    Payer

Adds its value to every other symbol on the grid.

  • Collector

    Collector

Adds every visible value to its own.

  • Persistent

    Persistent Payer

Adds its value to every other symbol on the grid, then repeats on every respin that follows.

  • Persistent

    Persistent Collector

Collects every visible value into its own, then repeats on every respin that follows.

  • New

    Banker

Adds its value to every symbol on the grid now, and to every symbol that lands afterwards.

  • New

    Healer

Brings 1 to 3 Collectors or Payers already on the grid back to life with 2 to 7 lives each. Each life keeps the symbol active for one more respin.

  • Prize

    Full grid

Filling all 28 positions, not counting the Healer, awards a flat 1,000x and ends the feature.

How it plays

Three or more Scatters start 3 respins; persistent symbols can also count toward the trigger. Every new symbol locks and resets the count. Fill a whole reel and a new reel opens, up to two times, for a 7x4 grid. The round ends when the respins run out or all 28 positions are filled; a Healer doesn't count as a filled position.

The cast is small compared with Money Train 2 to 5, but the Banker and Healer are clever additions. A Healer that revives a Persistent Collector for several more respins plays like a mini Necromancer. Compare all symbols in our special symbols guide.

Jackpot

How the Dream Drop jackpot works

Dream Drop is a separate jackpot game shared across Relax titles. It can start before any spin, when 20 Dream Drop symbols fill the 5x4 grid. You then pick safety-deposit boxes until you find three of the same jackpot, which you win.

Mega is the largest of the five tiers. In May 2025, iGB reported a Hungarian player won it from a 30-cent spin on Origins, a prize of about 2.9 million in euros. It was the 21st Mega jackpot on the network since launch.

The jackpot is the reason the RTP is 94%: part of every bet funds it. Sources don't confirm whether bigger bets raise your chance of triggering it, so we don't claim that.

The numbers

Money Train Origins RTP, volatility and max win

RTP: 94%

Every $100 wagered returns $94 in theory over millions of spins, including what's paid out through the jackpots. That's about $2.20 more lost per $100 than in the original Money Train. A version without Dream Drop exists at 96.11%; if you don't care about the jackpot, it's the better deal. See our RTP versions guide.

Volatility: high

About one spin in five pays (18.35%), and the bonus lands roughly every 244 spins: the most frequent of the main games. At $0.20 that's about $48.80 wagered between bonuses on average; at $1, about $244.

Max win: 10,000x plus jackpot

The game's own cap is 10,000x, the lowest of the main games: $2,000 at $0.20 and $10,000 at $1. AboutSlots' simulations put the odds at about 1 in 7 million spins. The Dream Drop jackpots sit on top.

Origins vs the original Money Train

Pros and cons

What we like

  • The most frequent bonus of the main games, about 1 in 244
  • A fixed 1,000x prize for filling the grid
  • Dream Drop jackpots on top of the game's own 10,000x cap
  • Banker and Healer add fresh twists to a simple bonus
  • Wide $0.20–$100 bet range

What we don't

  • 94% RTP, the lowest default of the main games
  • 10,000x cap, half of the original
  • No bonus buy on the jackpot version
  • Plain base game with no modifiers

Similar games

These games share the Money Cart-style respin bonus, with or without the jackpot layer.

  • Money Train

The 2019 original in the same Wild West setting: a 96.2% RTP and 20,000x cap, but no jackpot and no fixed full-grid prize.

  • Money Train 2

The same grid that grows to 7x4, with more specials, base-game respins and a 50,000x cap. No jackpot.

  • Money Train 5

The newest 5x4 game: a stations bonus instead of a fixed grid, Ultra mode and seven buys. No jackpot.

  • Money Cart series

Bonus-only Relax games with no paylines. The respins trigger far more often, for much smaller values.

  • Slingo Money Train

A Slingo card and prize ladder that lead to a Money Train 2-style bonus, at about the same 94% RTP.

Our verdict: is it worth playing?

Origins Dream Drop: a classic Money Cart with a jackpot attached.

Origins has the most approachable bonus in the main series. It comes around more often, and the 1,000x full-grid prize gives a clear target. The Wild West look will suit fans of the original.

The 94% RTP is a real cost, and it only makes sense if you want the jackpot draw. If you don't, the version without Dream Drop or the original Money Train returns more in theory. Skip it if you want a bonus buy on the jackpot version.

Frequently asked questions

It's 94%, including the share of each bet that funds the Dream Drop jackpots. A version without the jackpot runs at 96.11%.

It's random. The jackpot game starts when 20 Dream Drop symbols fill the grid before a spin. You pick boxes until you find three of the same jackpot.

What is the max win?

It's 10,000x your bet from the game itself: $2,000 at $0.20 or $10,000 at $1. Dream Drop jackpots come on top.

Can you buy the bonus?

No, not in the Dream Drop version. The version without the jackpot offers an 80x buy where it's allowed.

How we checked the numbers

Origins has two versions, so we checked which one each source describes. Some sites headline 96.11%, which is the version without the jackpot; this review covers the 94% Dream Drop game.

We start from Relax Gaming's launch news and product page. We cross-check with BigWinBoard, SlotCatalog, AboutSlots and FruitySlots. Jackpot data: iGB and OLBG.

Relax's launch news says the Healer revives one symbol. The in-game rules say 1 to 3 Collectors or Payers with 2 to 7 lives each, matching BigWinBoard and Relax's product page, so we follow the game. The paytable and the 1,000x full-grid rule are also taken from the in-game screens. The 10,000x odds are from AboutSlots' simulations, not Relax. Drafts are prepared with AI from this fact base and checked by an editor. Read our editorial policy and review method.

Play responsibly

The Dream Drop jackpot is a random draw with very long odds, so don't play Origins to chase it. The bonus averages about once in 244 spins, and longer gaps are common. Decide your budget before you start and stop when it's gone.
